Blood Oranges

Succulent and Delicious

About Our Blood Oranges

In California, blood oranges are not as popular as Valencias and Navels, but they are a primary orange of Italy. The blood orange is a variety of orange with crimson, almost blood-colored flesh. While their pigment is common to many flowers and fruits, it is highly uncommon in citrus. Its dark color develops during low temperatures during the night.

Smaller than the average orange, blood oranges can have tougher and harder skin to peel. They also contain greater amounts of antioxidants compared to other oranges.
